Story:
You play the part of Ted in the story. With your assistant Luna, you visit spooky places to take pictures of ghosts. You were admitted to the hospital as a result of your most recent investigation's disastrous findings.
After being released, you went home and can now resume your perilous adventures.
Playing the game
involves trying to catch a ghost at an investigation site. You must use the tools at your disposal to locate a room that is haunted by ghosts (changes every time). Once you've found haunted rooms, you can gather information to determine the type of ghost more quickly. Utilizing your tool for gathering evidence, choose three of the seven possible ghost types.
After you've gathered all three pieces of evidence, keep an eye out for any telltale ghostly activity, such as puddles on the floor, heavy furniture shifting, apparitions in mirrors or TVs, etc. Some spirits behave in a certain way when they are on the hunt. For instance, Shy Ghost and Countlanak both keep silent and quiet while they are hunting. Mark the entry with the ghost's name in the journal's "Conclusion" tab once you are confident of its type.
Knowing what kind of ghost it is now will help you devise a strategy for capturing it. Be warned that a ghost can only be trapped during a hunt. Each ghost can be captured in a different way; for further information, consult the "Ghostpedia" in your journal. These tools aren't freely available to you, therefore you have to buy them with Luna.
Once you have mastered the use of those items, try to catch a ghost while it is about to hunt. If you weren't able to catch a number of ghosts when the search first began, you can still do so afterwards. Try using an incense stick first if you can't catch them, then try again once its effect wears off.
Once you have utilised the appropriate item, it will reveal its true form and bind briefly to the earth before dissolving once more. During that time, click the "Hunt" button (Default - X) to try to catch it. Try to fill the climax bar by adjusting speed to the heart icon next to the speed metre. When the climax bar is full, the ghost is trapped, but you can escape by going to your computer and choosing "End Investigation." Every ghost that has been captured is in your home.
